A fast-track project to complete the entire rebuild of a 100 year old papermaking facility in Ohio. The project included the demolition and replacement of existing operating floor. The paper machine was a 7 VAT cylinder board machine with 3 dryer sections. The machine components were completely reconditioned to produce 180” specialty brown-grade paper for transformer internals. There were many challenges getting the equipment and piping to fit in the existing building space. The use of 3D design allowed for quick study of various layout options with the owner, operator, and maintenance teams.
Results:
Engineering completed on schedule despite the fact that Jedson was awarded engineering in the middle of detailed design.
Total installed cost reduced by $1MM through procurement services.
